Position Overview

Cars Commerce is seeking an experienced Lead Senior Software Engineer specializing in Front End development to join our growing organization. This is a 100% remote position offering a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity. You will play a pivotal role in building novel Front End solutions that enhance user experiences across the automotive ecosystem, specifically on the Cars.com website and its mobile app experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide technical decisions for Front End development.
  • Empower and mentor more junior team members.
  • Collaborate with junior and senior engineers across the organization.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in product, design, and data to take projects from conception to completion.
  • Own both product and engineering-driven projects, including:
    • Collaborating through the discovery process to define technical solutions.
    • Executing upon those solutions.
    • Shipping high-quality features to millions of users.
  • Work closely with backend, iOS, and Android teams to ensure simultaneous delivery across all user-facing channels.
  • Define API contracts and collaborate with counterparts to deliver seamless user experiences.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in front-end development.
