Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
  • Certification by the American Registry

Responsibilities

  • Works side-by-side with Technologists, performing radiologic procedures for all patient populations
  • Oversees daily activities within assigned department to maintain patient flow, maximize technical staff productivity, and assure highest clinical quality
  • Troubleshoots technical issues during radiologic procedures and corrects them
  • Supports individual and departmental achievement through recognition methods
  • Assists Director/Manager with feedback for Best People Reviews and competencies, and addresses inappropriate employee behavior directly and confidentially
  • Obtains appropriate documentation from technical staff for compliance with state/national licensing/accrediting agencies, Virtua policies, and requirements including Safety Training, PPD, Fit Testing, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, and JCAHO
  • Provides new employee orientation within the department, clarifies performance expectations, and provides ongoing feedback
  • Coordinates and oversees all department activities including patient flow, technical and clerical scheduling, and ordering of supplies
  • Performs procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards and ensures competency of staff
  • Utilizes Resource Stewardship by operating the department within budgetary guidelines including appropriate staffing levels
  • Supports the Virtua Mission and Vision Statement, upholds values of integrity, respect, caring, commitment, teamwork, and excellence, adheres to all Virtua policies, and maintains customer focus to promote patient and employee satisfaction
