Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with 7+ years of product management experience, specifically within a data-intensive environment or open data ecosystem. Demonstrated experience leading product strategy and roadmap development for complex platforms is essential, along with a strong understanding of database technologies and query languages. Familiarity with open source software development and collaborative environments is highly desirable.
As the Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for the product lifecycle management of the Wikidata Query Service (WDQS) and related successor services, collaborating with technical stakeholders to discover user needs and translate them into prioritized system requirements, and developing product roadmaps to maintain stable, reliable, and sustainable data access. You will also work closely with Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE) product management and engineering counterparts, serving as a thought partner to senior leadership and affiliate partners on strategic and tactical roadmap development, and instrumental in modernizing the data access infrastructure and improving self-service capabilities for Wikidata communities.
