The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a collaborative Lead Product Manager to support our work on Abstract Wikipedia. This visionary project aims to increase access to encyclopedic knowledge by enabling more people to share more knowledge in more languages. We are committed to making knowledge available globally and this role offers an opportunity to contribute to building new technology at the intersection of machine learning, natural language generation, and computational linguistics.
Abstract Wikipedia envisions a future where Wikipedia articles can be written once in an abstract form and then translated into any language through a community-edited natural language system. The technical foundation for this is Wikifunctions, a multilingual, open-source catalog of code functions.
As the Lead Product Manager, you will be accountable for turning the vision of Abstract Wikipedia into tangible impact, building the future of the Internet and radically expanding access to free knowledge. You will work with an international team based in time zones UTC-4 to UTC+1.
