Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mobile Engineer to support our clients in the strategy, development, and execution of mobile applications across platforms. This role will involve leading a team of talented engineers, collaborating with product and design teams, and proposing technical architectures for new and existing applications.


Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a mobile technology expert and advocate across the company.
  • Stay aware of and interested in market trends in mobile products.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing mobile engineering team.
  • Drive best practices in coding, architecture, security, and performance across mobile platforms.

Delivery & Execution

  • Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of all mobile applications.
  • Maintain a clear vision for a quality-driven approach to app stability, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software through agile methodologies.
  • Partner with Product Management and Design to scope features and set technical direction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with backend and web teams to ensure seamless API integration and consistent user experience.
  • Deep knowledge of REST / GraphQL is a plus.

Innovation & Growth

  • Stay current with industry trends and assess emerging technologies for future mobile strategy (e.g., KMP+CMP vs. Skip).
  • Drive internal and client initiatives around mobile, including talks and workshops.

Requirements

  • Proven experience: 10+ years in mobile engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) development. Experience with multiple frameworks (React Native, Flutter, KMP/CMP) is a plus, but deep knowledge of one and willingness to learn others is essential.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading teams of mobile engineers, ideally in a high-growth or consumer-facing company.
  • Architectural Understanding: Deep understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.), and platform-specific guidelines.
  • Track Record: Proven ability to deliver and scale complex mobile apps with millions of users.
  • Skills: Excellent communication (in English) and strategic thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, KMP/CMP, Flutter).
  • Experience working in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and app store release management.
  • Background in performance tuning, mobile analytics, and A/B testing.
