Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years hands-on proven experience as a Maintenance Technician with focus in electrical, automation, or mechatronics
  • 4+ years related automated equipment experience
  • Experience with control and power wiring
  • Experience with low and high voltage power (AC and DC, 24v to 480v)
  • Experience with motors, VFDs, and servo controls
  • Ability to analyze problematic equipment and electromechanical component failures without schematics
  • Proficiency in the use of highly technical diagnostic and test equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technician papers
  • Understanding of cGxP requirements
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment
  • Preferred: Minimum knowledge and ability to learn PLC formats, with emphasis on Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI hardware and software (SLC, PLC, ControlLogix, PanelView)
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of electrical installation, AC/DC motor drives, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems
  • Preferred: Experience with Production Systems, HVAC/HEPA Systems, Clean Utility Systems, Utility Systems (Boilers, Chillers, Compressed Air), Electrical Distribution Systems
  • Ability to work well with minimal direction and within teams
  • Proven understanding of electrical systems and industrial automation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform mechanic tasks including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and repair of production machines and ancillary support equipment
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, manuals, and training materials
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating night shifts (7pm–7am), including alternating/rotating schedules, maintenance shutdowns, and extended hours (up to 48 hours/week)
  • Adherence to GMP safety standards, cleanroom protocols (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair), and PPE requirements
  • Tolerance for environmental conditions: fluctuating temperatures, loud noises, standing full shift, strong odors, working at heights, various weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Follow quality standards in accordance with company policy, cGMP, and FDA requirements
  • Troubleshoot and support manufacturing equipment and facility equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to minimize line-interruption events
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service repairs
  • Perform alternating or rotating shift work, including during maintenance shutdowns
