Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of high-volume consumer electronic products
  • Strong product front-end experience, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in various manufacturing processes and identifying suitable processes for part requirements
  • Strong knowledge of plastic materials, tooling, injection molding, assembly processes, cosmetic finishes, and defect analysis
  • Proficiency in Pro/E and AutoCAD
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of quality tools such as DFMEA, DFMA, and tolerance analysis
  • Fluent prototyping skills and a good understanding of project management principles
  • Strong team leadership, initiative, creativity, and self-motivation
  • Good command of English writing and speaking for presentations
  • Experience in designing consumer electronic products such as mice, keyboards, computers, cameras, and cell phones
  • Knowledge in injection molded plastic industry

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, document, and test complex mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Ensure that final designs meet quality, cost, and user experience objectives, including manufacturability and reliability specifications
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to optimize designs for mass production
  • Resolve mechanical engineering issues and challenges
  • Provide regular coaching and mentoring to junior team members
  • Partner with worldwide functions for seamless product development
  • Launch the development and qualification of plastic tooling and design debugging
  • Contribute to technology roadmap development and platform implementation
