Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough inspections of HVAC systems at various stages of the ship construction process and verifies alignment with approved plans, design drawings, and industry standards (including ducts, equipment, ventilation systems, refrigeration units, and control mechanisms)
  • Ensures compliance with maritime and HVAC industry regulations, including international and regional standards from organizations like the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and classification societies
  • Maintains detailed records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions for accountability, regulatory compliance, and historical reference
  • Assesses the quality of HVAC system installations, identifies deficiencies or deviations from approved plans, and works with the construction team to address and rectify issues promptly
  • Ensures systems are designed and installed to prevent air contamination, manage temperature and humidity, and provide adequate ventilation to promote health and safety
  • Collaborates closely with shipbuilders, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to address HVAC-related challenges and ensure smooth integration with other ship components
  • Oversees the testing and commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure correct calibration, effective performance, and handling of different operating conditions
  • Stays updated on the latest advancements in HVAC technology, industry trends, and changes in regulations to enhance inspection practices
