About the Team and the Role

We are the Buyer Destination team within the Core Buyer Experience engineering team. Our team is pioneering the development of the Discovery Platform, a next-generation capability designed to deliver highly personalized, feed-based, and curatable content across eBay's Discovery Shopping surfaces. This initiative will transform not only the Buyer Destination experience but also extend its impact across all Core Buyer teams at eBay. We are currently seeking talented Web engineers to join our shopping surfaces teams. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior leads and architects to build and improve the surfaces for Web, driving innovation and excellence, and enabling engaging experiences on our shopping surfaces.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Convert business needs into software designs and produce high-quality, efficient, and scalable code.
  • Own and contribute deeply to a significant functional domain, demonstrating expertise.
  • Influence and guide technical decision-making across domain teams.
  • Improve team efficiency by identifying and promoting productivity improvements.
  • Design systems with flexibility to adapt to evolving requirements, accelerating engineering velocity.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to build innovative solutions aligned with objectives.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing front-end systems and development using Javascript/Typescript, CSS, React, NodeJS.
  • Experience with server-side rendering using open-sourced UI libraries like Material UI or Ant UI.
  • Proven experience with Webpack and Express.js, illustrating a strong understanding of BEM-structured CSS and browser intricacies.

Salary and Compensation

  • Base Pay Range: $132,000 - $222,100
  • Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
  • The total compensation package may also include other elements, such as a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable), in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
