Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC-headquartered FinTech company dedicated to revolutionizing the rent payment experience. We are seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the development of our core user experience across our mobile and web platforms. You will be instrumental in launching new features, developing, designing, testing, and scaling innovative product offerings that simplify complex financial challenges for our users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, test, and scale new product offerings for our web and mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including designers, product managers, and quality engineers, in an agile environment.
  • Execute work both individually and as part of a team, building products that accommodate evolving product offerings.
  • Write maintainable code using industry best practices, including unit testing, linting, and automation.
  • Write well-documented and testable TypeScript code.
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams to improve code quality.
  • Mentor engineers on best practices for software development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in React.js or React Native.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals.
  • A strong focus on building high-quality mobile and web UIs to specifications.
  • Experience with various architectures and tools within the React Native and React ecosystems (Hooks, Components, Context, Redux).
  • Experience leading and delivering products at a large scale (hundreds of thousands to millions of users) without performance bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and tooling across web and mobile architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript.
  • Native iOS/Android development experience (bonus).
  • Experience with CI/CD to improve code stability and quality.
  • Experience with IDEs such as VSCode, Android Studio, and Xcode.
  • Familiarity with the Android / iOS / Web development tool ecosystem.
  • Motivated to help other engineers succeed and be effective.

Salary

  • For working locations in NY/NJ/CA: The base salary pay range will be $197,000 - $213,000.
  • For all other states: The base salary pay range will be $177,000 - $192,000.
  • Note: Salary compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
