Requirements

  • At least one technical vocational qualification with additional training as a technician or master craftsman; university degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of practical experience in a similar position
  • Very good knowledge of agricultural machinery/tractors, particularly regarding wiring harnesses/high-voltage systems/data transmission
  • Commercial knowledge including budgeting/forecasting/costing
  • Proficiency in OEM-specific CAD software, MS Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Good German and very good written and spoken English skills
  • Willingness for international travel

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead the project team in all technical matters
  • Based on agreed-upon objectives, strive for the best possible outcome for Aptiv and the customer from a technical, commercial, and business perspective
  • Maintain strong customer relationships
  • Coordinate all project-relevant customer activities in the development area – with a focus on commercial vehicles
  • Plan and conduct necessary customer meetings
  • Coordinate with and participate in customer meetings, especially design meetings and cost review meetings, as requested
  • Maintain continuous, high-quality communication with the production plant, the back office (India), and the resident engineer at the customer's site
  • Create the project milestones (PDP) required in EPM/SEE and adapt customer milestones into the Aptiv PDP process
  • Report escalation points to the program and/or technical supervisor
  • Report technical solutions and progress toward KPIs to the PM proactively and conduct design reviews according to the PM master’s schedule
  • Escalate issues to immediate supervisor or their deputy through weekly technical management meetings
  • Support the Project Manager in preparing for and participating in customer Product Readiness Reviews (PRRs)
  • Clarify questions from the production plant regarding the drawing
  • Coordinate change requests
  • Initiate cost assessments and make them available on the relevant Project SharePoint/directory
  • Provide technical support for prototype construction, installation trials, troubleshooting and corrective actions, and rework
  • Provide technical support for RFQ requests
  • Monitor the use of Aptiv’s available engineering tools (e.g., BOD, DFM, DFA, RQA, FMEA, ECM, S-ECM, EPM) throughout product development phases
  • Coordinate and manage design reviews in consultation with necessary departments (PM, ME, OPL, etc.)
  • Support cost and quality optimization of concepts and products for internal and external purposes
  • Ensure effective communication between all Aptiv departments and the customer
  • Identify critical processes, assess risks and efficiency
  • Focus on VOC (Voice of the Customer) feedback
  • Standardize and share knowledge within Aptiv PE
  • Actively participate in requirement reviews for new projects in Flow3
  • Take active responsibility for the PE item list for transfer to the Aptiv C-BOM
  • Support the Aptiv production plant with necessary product information to ensure timely delivery of wiring harnesses, primarily through technical changes and drawing corrections
  • Support the timeline for implementing MCIP initiatives and inform the MCIP coordinator and sales about unidentified cost reduction PCRs in product development phases
  • Manage change within the ECM system, ensuring compliance with customer-specific standards and international product regulations
  • Pursue continuous professional development focused on Aptiv and the customer
