Extensive experience in the modeling, analysis, and planning of transmission lines, substation facilities, and other applicable assets
Experience with power flow, transient stability, short circuit, and EMT analyses
Knowledge of NERC, NPCC, and ISO-NE reliability standards and criteria
Ability to lead and coordinate team assignments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
Serve as the System Planning team lead for direct report engineers, ensuring responsible assignments are performed satisfactorily
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on transmission system reliability studies
Lead the development and maintenance of the system power flow model, including collection and review of forecast loads
Lead the development and maintenance of the system power flow model, including collection, modification, and review of electric system parameters (equipment ratings, impedances, contingency sets, protection and control parameters, system topology)
Lead the development and maintenance of the system power flow model, including collection, modification, and review of modeling for steady state, stability, short circuit, and EMT analyses
Lead the strategic needs assessment and analysis of proposed solutions associated with Eversource’s service territory, especially EMA and NH
Determine required level of analysis, study assumptions, and study scopes
Apply corporate planning standards and applicable NERC, NPCC, and ISO-NE reliability standards and criteria
Determine transmission system area needs through performing transmission system studies
Verify technical feasibility or soundness of proposed plans
Interface with various ISO-NE staff, DER and Distribution System Planning, Advanced Forecasting, line and substation engineering, Asset Management, siting, environmental and permitting, operations, etc
