As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of Agile software teams, responsible for designing and implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This role focuses on supporting AWS toolsets, maintaining CI/CD environments across various classification levels, configuring environments for performance and security, and collaborating with corporate IT to ensure infrastructure compliance. You will also advocate for DevOps best practices and educate engineers on software development processes. This role leverages STR’s flexible, hybrid work environment, allowing for remote work when not requiring STR facilities.

About the Team

The STR Analytics Division develops novel solutions to national security problems through advanced analytics and software. The Mission Applications (MA) Group within this division develops and deploys software-intensive mission capabilities to defense and intelligence customers, utilizing STR’s R&D and matrixing engineering staff from those groups.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance: Required
  • U.S. Citizenship: Required
  • Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7+ years of relevant experience (depending on degree)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab or other CI/CD systems.
  • Support Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets in an unclassified environment.
  • Maintain multiple CI/CD environments at multiple classification levels where AWS is not available.
  • Configure CI/CD environments for application performance, security monitoring, and alerting.
  • Act as a point of contact with the corporate IT organization to ensure infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and compliant with Department of Defense standards.
  • Advocate for and educate engineers on DevOps fundamentals and implement solid software development processes.
  • Experience deploying and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and pod configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux System Administration.
  • Knowledge of Python and Linux Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security principles.
