The Lead Data Scientist should possess 7-10 years of professional software work experience, expertise in Python and Apache Spark, proficiency in SQL, and experience with Linux OS and version control systems like Git. Strong OOP design patterns, Test-Driven Development, and Enterprise System design skills are also required, along with knowledge of optimizing data flows for performance and cost efficiency.
As a Lead Data Scientist, the candidate will build production-ready data acquisition and transformation pipelines, serve as a hands-on problem solver and developer, extend and manage data platforms, architect and lead the development of data ingestion and processing pipelines, mentor junior and mid-level data engineers, and apply best practices in data modeling and ETL pipelines. They will also contribute to solving high-impact business problems and communicate change to non-technical people.
