Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare, clinical informatics, or health IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on training or education
  • Proven experience designing and managing training programs for Epic EHR systems in a large, complex healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale training initiatives
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Experience with Epic training environments, including the use of Epic’s Training Home, UserWeb, and Learning Home Dashboards

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Epic Training Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy for Epic EHR systems, including new implementations, upgrades, and ongoing education
  • Oversee Curriculum Development: Design and maintain standardized, role-specific training curricula for clinical, administrative, and technical users
  • Manage Training Delivery: Oversee the delivery of training through multiple modalities (instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, simulation) to ensure accessibility and effectiveness
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with Clinical Informatics, IT, Compliance, and operational leaders to align training with workflows, policies, and strategic initiatives
  • Governance and Quality Assurance: Establish and lead Epic training governance, including documentation standards, training audits, and continuous improvement processes
  • Epic System Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Epic training tools (e.g., UserWeb, Training Home, Learning Home Dashboards) and best practices
  • Vendor and Partner Engagement: Liaise with Epic Systems and third-party training vendors to ensure alignment with system updates and certification requirements
  • Change Management Support: Lead training-related change management efforts during system go-lives, upgrades, and workflow redesigns
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Use training metrics and user feedback to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvements in training programs
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure training programs meet regulatory and organizational standards for documentation, privacy, and security
  • Overall management and execution of the CVS Clinical Informatics Training program, including standardization of training programs for the electronic health record, development of training materials, and management of the training application system
  • Align and work with senior leaders across lines of business to provide consistent guidance and insights on training to support customer vision and leadership in healthcare
  • Provide leadership direction, define project scope, identify scalable solutions, and manage project deliverables for successful implementations of the training management strategy and electronic health records
  • Oversee the governance of the training application within the health record platform, working with senior leaders from multiple business units as well as representatives from Legal, Medical Affairs, Operations, Privacy, and Compliance
  • Represent CVS Clinical Informatics to several training vendors and partners, working with the VP and Chief Health Informatics Officer
