Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • College-level courses or a degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or Physical Sciences preferred
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred
  • General knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with a meal break
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Pass initial proficiency testing successfully
  • Demonstrate proficiency and continued growth following training, with competency verified at least annually

Responsibilities

  • Perform a single procedure or work instruction
  • Execute multiple analytical, microbiological, or quality system procedures within a Food Safety Laboratory
  • Maintain precision and accuracy in performing work instructions and collecting data
  • Maintain ISO records for process control
  • Comply with all quality system and safety requirements
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
