Requirements

Experience in laboratory automation, including program optimization and validation of complex scripts
Ability to independently design and execute experiments
Knowledge of methods, protocols, SOPs, GMP, and GLP
Technical expertise in analytical troubleshooting for procedures and instrumentation
Skills in reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing data for technical, quality, and compliance purposes
Capability to evaluate technical options for quality, economics, ease of production introduction, and robustness
Experience interacting with clients and stakeholders on project status and technical issues
Leadership and mentoring skills for team development
Ability to implement novel approaches to method development and applications
Comfort working in a laboratory setting with hazardous/toxic materials and required PPE

Responsibilities

Provide line-level management for a small team, including coordination of resources and work schedules for laboratory automation activities
Oversee daily operations and assist in preparation and implementation of company policies, quality systems, and training programs
Ensure laboratory staff development aligns with department goals and growth
Act as the technical project leader for multiple projects, interacting with clients as needed
Ensure regulatory and scientific conduct of development, qualification, and/or validation work for automated instrumentation
Independently perform program optimization and validation of complex scripts
Review and critique automated instrumentation programs and associated documentation
Communicate data, technical issues, project definitions, expectations, and status to stakeholders
Provide technical guidance and lead analytical troubleshooting sessions
Review, interpret, and analyze data for compliance with protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria, GMP/GLP
Perform self and peer reviews of data for accuracy and compliance before QA submission
Provide leadership and mentoring to team members to improve technical expertise and scientific knowledge
Implement novel approaches to method development and applications
Provide training/orientation to production staff for method implementation
Assist in startup and troubleshooting
