Requirements
- Associates degree or completion of 60 semester credit hours from an academically accredited college or university
- (3) years of experience in probation, juvenile detention, correctional, or adolescent behavioral setting
- Combined education and experience: equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience in probation, juvenile detention, correctional, or adolescent behavioral setting may substitute on a year-for-year basis
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Mentoring staff
- Directing shift activities on one of three shifts
- Directing the transportation of youth to court or off-site
- Supervising staff and youth on living units
- Ensuring Arizona Juvenile Detention Standards are being met in daily activities
- Performing administrative tasks such as record keeping for daily tasks, daily shift reports, and semiannual data collection
- Supervising Juvenile Detention Officers or Surveillance Officers depending on the assignment
- Assigned to other program areas as needed after gaining experience
