Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1–3 years of experience working with Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud in an operational or support role
  • Familiarity with Splunk SPL (Search Processing Language) for basic queries and dashboarding
  • Exposure to OpenTelemetry and observability principles
  • Awareness of Logs as a Code (LaaC) concepts and version-controlled configuration practices
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Preferred: Splunk Core Certified User or Administrator

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up data ingestion pipelines into Splunk Cloud from various sources
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across ingestion workflows
  • Support OpenTelemetry integration for collecting traces, metrics, and logs
  • Contribute to the configuration of ITSI components including basic service tree mapping and KPI creation
  • Develop simple Glass Tables and dashboards
  • Perform initial setup of anomaly detection and thresholding rules
  • Help troubleshoot Splunk-related issues such as data discrepancies and dashboard errors
  • Maintain documentation for observability configurations and workflows
  • Follow and promote observability best practices
  • Work with application teams, SREs, and developers to understand monitoring needs
  • Translate basic business requirements into technical observability solutions
