Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized university
  • Admitted to the Malaysian Bar and in good standing
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally from a reputable law firm or multinational in-house legal department
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian commercial, corporate, and regulatory law
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Proven ability to provide practical, commercial legal solutions with sound judgment
  • A collaborative attitude, high ethical standards, and a passion for continuous learning
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting legal matters in the manufacturing, life sciences, or technology sectors
  • Familiarity with regional (ASEAN) compliance frameworks and cross-border transactions

Responsibilities

  • Offer timely legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and operational matters
  • Partner with business leaders to identify risks and develop practical solutions that enable strategic growth
  • Support the implementation of company policies and initiatives that promote ethical and sound business practices
  • Draft and review a variety of agreements, including supply, distribution, procurement, service, and confidentiality contracts
  • Ensure contracts reflect Thermo Fisher’s standards and values while balancing commercial objectives and risk mitigation
  • Maintain accurate contract records and assist in developing efficient contracting processes and templates
  • Support the company’s compliance and ethics program, including training, monitoring, and policy development
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments in Malaysia and the ASEAN region and provide solutions for the business
  • Assist with corporate secretarial and governance matters, including resolutions, filings, and regulatory reporting
  • Assist in handling disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters, including coordination with external counsel and authorities
  • Support internal investigations and contribute to proactive risk management initiatives
  • Work closely with legal and business colleagues across functions — including finance, HR, operations, and commercial — to ensure alignment and consistent legal practices
  • Contribute to regional and global projects within Thermo Fisher’s Legal & Compliance community
