High school diploma or equivalent degree
Minimum one year of experience in inventory control or related area
Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company procedures
Working knowledge in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and Outlook
Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species
Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures

Responsibilities

Work closely with the buyers and plants to monitor and maintain all plant VMI programs
Know the system inside and out to run any inventory and receive reports available and answer inventory questions
Handle most communication with specific vendor contacts and facilitate their needs
Investigate any inventory discrepancies and communicate the issue with plants and vendors
Handle vendor issues tactfully
Maintain vendor price maintenance tables
Update and maintain VMI and cash contract records
Prepare various reports and correspondence as required
Process Import payables
Share backup receptionist duties
Assist in assigned special projects
Perform other duties as directed or required
