Requirements

Associate's degree or transcript showing Radiology Technology from a two-year college, technical school, or hospital-based Radiologic Technology program
Cardiac Interventional Radiography (RI) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 days, or Radiography (R) - ARRT within 60 days, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 60 days
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

Schedules procedures and appropriate patient preparations, prepares, positions, and instructs patients, and adjusts equipment for procedures
Familiar with a wide variety of diagnostic and intervention procedures and oversees/coordinates with nursing staff, scrub techs, and other techs or students throughout exams
Produces satisfactory images via digital imaging or hard film and presents them satisfactorily for radiologist interpretation
Maintains, orders, and evaluates products used for procedures
Demonstrates high level of patient care skills to assist nursing staff with caring for critically ill patients
Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines, and others
Monitors all hemodynamics during procedures
Understands human vasculature including cerebral circulation and anticipates the needs of the physician for supplies, equipment, and medications while maintaining a sterile environment
Performs specialized procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment
Comprehends and interprets complex clinical subject matter related to the specialty
Analyzes data and formulates an appropriate plan of action, demonstrating critical thinking skills
Promotes Avera’s values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship
