  • Availability for spring, summer, and fall semesters
  • Availability for multiple work terms (preferred)

  • Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with industry codes and best practices
  • Build critical thinking skills
  • Gain understanding of how engineering disciplines work together
  • Learn various aspects of refinery operations
  • Expand written and verbal presentation skills
  • Work on electrical and instrumentation projects (E&I Project Engineer role): develop project management skills including scope alignment, cost/schedule development, and teamwork; support area teams
  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues; analyze equipment failures; develop solutions; submit Project Request Forms (PRFs); understand maintenance strategies; use electrical analysis software for coordination and Arc Flash studies; learn about Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) (Reliability E&I Engineer role)
  • Support process control systems: troubleshoot power supply problems; perform control system programming; handle hardware/software lifecycle replacements; install/troubleshoot communication networks; monitor performance metrics (Process Control/Technical Service Engineer role)
