Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and caregivers, ensuring a positive and seamless admission process
  • Collect, verify, and input medical, insurance, and demographic information with accuracy
  • Explain and complete admission paperwork, obtaining required signatures (e.g., patient rights, consent forms)
  • Register patients and manage documents using the Cerner system
  • Conduct safety checks and assist with belongings searches as needed
  • Manage patient interactions in crisis situations, maintaining a calm and welcoming environment
  • Facilitate unscheduled admissions, including screenings and scheduling in collaboration with Patient Access
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary teams to address clinical criteria, documentation, and treatment issues
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Explain insurance coverage to patients and handle related inquiries
  • Provide clear documentation and communicate cases requiring special attention
  • Participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage as scheduled
