Instructional Designer - ELA

Position Overview

Kiddom is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer with a background in K-12 ELA teaching and digital learning. This role focuses on editing and designing digital ELA curriculum products within the Kiddom platform, as well as developing supplemental resources. The ideal candidate will ensure that both teacher- and student-facing content are optimized for our digital platform, reporting directly to the Head of Curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Manually author/edit interactive question types using the Kiddom platform.
  • Develop and implement protocols for instructional/graphic design of curriculum-aligned ELA lesson presentations.
  • Author/edit supplemental resources aligned to existing ELA curriculum.
  • Review content and provide Quality Assurance feedback to Kiddom’s contractor network.
  • Align ELA content to state and national standards and develop student-centered learning experiences.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of K–12 ELA classroom teaching experience (upper elementary or secondary preferred).
    • 3+ years of instructional design experience focused on ELA and digital learning.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of ELA standards such as Common Core or state-specific benchmarks.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Proficient in using Generative AI tools to enhance instructional design and content development workflows.
    • Experienced with project management platforms such as JIRA and Monday.com to track tasks, timelines, and team collaboration.
    • Skilled in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) for creating, organizing, and sharing curriculum and project documentation.
  • Attributes:

Salary

$60,000 - $85,000 per year Salary range is dependent on geographic location, prior experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
