Requirements

Adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment
Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance by following company’s dress code and hygiene guidelines
Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment in compliance with State and Federal DOT and Airgas safety policies and procedures
Maintain a driver file to be set up and maintained
Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document deficiencies
Ability to perform first level repair and troubleshooting of VMI equipment
Willingness to perform any reasonable work request that falls within qualifications

Responsibilities

Sell industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding equipment, power and hand tools, paint and other supplies to customers
Advise customers on tools, hardware, materials needed, and procedures to complete tasks
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing
Process order entry, cash and charge orders; assist with reconciliation of cash and bank deposits
Communicate by phone, e-mail and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers and others regarding cost, ordering and delivery times
Develop outgoing call strategy to support sales growth for the branch
Coordinate internal transfers of product requested by customers
Answer customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise
Total price and tax on merchandise, prepare invoices, accept payments, make change, wrap or bag merchandise, and assist in loading/unloading cylinders
Visit customer sites for site surveys before product delivery
Coordinate with purchasing department on product shortages or outages
Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally with customers, vendors, co-workers and management
Ensure all administrative and accounting procedures are strictly observed
Stock shelves, warehouse, counters and tables with merchandise and maintain showroom displays
Serve as first point of contact for Airgas customers on welding hard goods and safety supplies related to Vending Machines and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) bins
Conduct and coordinate area customer VMI program, including delivery, restocking and re-supply
Monitor customer usage and suggest adjustments to product levels for maximum efficiency and product turn
Monitor inventory levels at customer sites
Maintain VMI System by cleaning, organizing, re-labeling bins, and organizing production additions/deletions
Assist branch with customer deliveries using company vehicles: upload, deliver, download hardgoods items and cylinders; return empty cylinders; maintain load manifests and vehicle documents; maintain vehicle appearance
