Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • For Inpatient Therapist II: Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Private Independent Practice (LCSW-PIP), or Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) (active license in state of practice upon hire); if on addiction team, Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Addiction Counselor Trainee status with LAC within 3 years
  • For Inpatient Therapist III: Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Private Independent Practice (LCSW-PIP), or Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) (all active licenses in state of practice upon hire)
  • Working knowledge of DSM, ASAM, federal and state alcohol and drug abuse treatment laws, rules, and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Assists in coordinating, planning, implementing, and facilitating programs and counseling services on an inpatient basis and in addiction recovery settings
  • Facilitates all aspects of treatment including crisis intervention, assessment, individual, group, and family counseling for patients
  • Provides behavioral health treatment programs and participates in physician/team planning for continued care based on client/patient needs
  • Provides thorough addiction-related evaluations/assessments and consultation services on outpatient and inpatient basis, making appropriate recommendations
  • Promotes psychotherapeutic programs and services within hospital departments, health system, and community/region
  • Provides educational programs on behavioral health topics in outpatient, hospital, and community settings as requested
  • Coordinates, implements, and markets crisis intervention, EAP counseling, addiction programming, and educational services as needed
  • Assists with staff/student on-the-job training/orientation as needed
  • Assesses client’s behavioral health condition ongoing, recognizes changes warranting treatment plan modifications or referrals
  • Communicates effectively with clients, families, team members, physicians, inter-departmental staff, and other agencies
