Requirements

Candidates must have proven experience in an infrastructure backend role, ideally in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with at least one major cloud platform and its associated tooling is required, along with familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes. A background with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation is preferred, as well as hands-on experience with monitoring and observability stacks. Strong scripting and coding abilities are necessary to build and automate solutions, and effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Engineer will scale and maintain data pipelines and compute clusters as the Data Acquisition team grows. They will build out observability tools to support developer troubleshooting and performance insights, help design on-call processes balancing developer velocity with service reliability, and collaborate with DAQ teams on deployment approaches and integrations. They will prototype and implement solutions for caching, load balancing, job scheduling, and cluster scaling, while also improving developer productivity through better tooling and automated provisioning.
