Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations
Register in the PDIS and complete all required training courses including 15 hours of continuing education/year, providing documentation to the Director

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, healthy, and secure environment with an emphasis on children’s social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive needs
Perform daily child care duties as assigned including feeding, diapers, play, and naps
Supervise, mentor, and direct assistant teachers and subs/floaters
Work with the Director, early learning specialists, and families to create and implement behavior plans for children with challenging behavior
Work cooperatively as a team with other teaching professionals
Provide positive guidance and redirection
Record diapers, naps, and daily activities in Brightwheel
Maintain professional communication with parents and other staff daily
Maintain all necessary records including illness logs
Work with a teaching team to create monthly lesson plans and write monthly newsletters
Maintain positive relationships with families, sending updates and emails on a regular basis
Complete observations and assessments at least 3 times a year using Teaching Strategies Gold
Use assessments to prepare/plan curriculum, and lead parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring
Help plan and lead family nights including back-to-school nights
Monitor children for illness and follow procedures for sending sick children home
Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned
