Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanic/maintenance work experience documented in work history or graduate of an industrial maintenance training program
  • Ability to read information relating to the job including work assignments, blueprints, equipment specifications, repair related information, etc
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements: flex/grip with wrists/hands, walk, bend, squat, stand, lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, work at heights up to 70 feet occasionally, work in harsh environments (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud) for short periods
  • Willing and able to take and pass various safety tests within 30 days
  • Ability to work a variable schedule and occasional holidays (3rd shift)
  • For prior Tyson workers: minimum 90-day rehire waiting period and limited to 3 times of employment

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and adjust equipment
  • Maintain accurate records on log sheets and in a computer-based system
  • Clean up area after tasks and assist in keeping the shop clean and orderly
  • Check out and account for parts used on the job
  • Fill out work notifications, PM reviews, and work order evaluations
  • Assist Team Members while developing and maintaining positive professional relationships
  • Communicate with various departments on a regular basis
  • Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements
  • Perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
