Requirements

  • Willingness to work hands-on in an industrial lab with chemicals, metals, machining equipment, tanks, and protective gear (including Tychem suits)
  • Ability to move regularly between lab and manufacturing floor, potentially requiring change of clothes
  • Capability to undergo extensive in-house training (computer-based and hands-on) for position skills
  • Adherence to safety protocols, company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for chemicals

Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform analytical testing of chemical tanks, including collection of samples, titrations, maintaining lab records, and math calculations
  • Maintain chemical tanks, including cleaning tanks, preparing new solutions, and performing chemical additions
  • Perform metallurgical prep, microscopic evaluation, and mechanical testing of thermal spray coatings and other metallic structures
  • Prepare and label chemical etchants and reagents for various departments
  • Manage storage of chemical waste containers and incoming chemicals, adhering to safety and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct chemical and metallurgical laboratory tests to validate and control shop processes
  • Monitor and perform preventative maintenance and adjustments to laboratory test equipment
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are followed
