Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1–3 years of investment experience required
  • Working knowledge of fixed income and equity securities, their markets, and trading characteristics
  • Working knowledge of all trade-related operation areas
  • Strong knowledge of PC applications, including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of mainframe system interface
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and project management skills
  • Results- and goal-oriented; possesses sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing business solutions
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid change

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage group project agenda under direction of manager
  • Prepare and analyze reports for ongoing projects under direction of manager
  • Work with Investment Operations and the Technology Department on mutual projects
  • Update and maintain investment management software for risk management and compliance purposes
  • Compile soft dollar contracts under direction of manager
  • Reconcile broker statements
  • Monitor best execution
  • Receive investment model updates and changes from internal and external strategy teams and execute across institutional and personal trust accounts
  • Manage high-volume, high-transaction, high-risk systems
  • Work with internal and external strategists to develop workflows for updating models, rebalancing accounts, and implementing strategy changes
  • Reconcile model positions monthly
  • Monitor, identify, and correct any account-level cash or position deviations from the model
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures to ensure minimal dispersion of returns for separately managed accounts; continuously reduce implementation shortfall
  • Execute all modeled account maintenance requests from portfolio managers and financial advisors, including creating and releasing large block orders
  • Track and implement socially responsible restrictions, unmanaged restrictions, and cash requirements for all institutional and personal trust modeled accounts
  • Manage all aspects of SMA and UMA modeling platforms; work with IT and vendors on system conversions, upgrades, and day-to-day maintenance
  • Provide guidance to portfolio managers and strategists on fund selection within asset allocation models; must be familiar with liquidity, trading restrictions, and account minimums
  • Serve as a backup to others in the Investment Management Rebalancing group as needed
  • Perform other job responsibilities as determined necessary
  • Responsible for trade and portfolio administration, including tracking and reporting Equity Trading performance and Soft Dollar and research broker budget
  • Maintain the equity modeling program and rebalance accounts attached to equity and asset allocation models
  • Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures as defined
