Minimum of 4 years of experience (may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience)
Broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through prior work experience and/or education
Vocational training and/or certification (may be required)
Elementary school degree / GED or equivalent (Mexico)
Ability to work under limited supervision, with no instruction needed on routine work and general instructions on new activities
Thorough knowledge of operating equipment and established operational procedures
Ability to perform activities requiring considerable judgment and ownership of minor projects
Capability to independently propose solutions to general problems for supervisor review and recommend minor changes in systems and processes

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations
Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal assembly instructions
Sets initial layouts and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s)
Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed
Conducts quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications
Disassembles, modifies, reworks, reassembles, and tests experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
Provides support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products
Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines (higher levels recommend and/or make adjustments to methods and processes)
May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers
Performs a wide variety of non-routine clerical tasks and supports special projects or assignments in distribution center
Provides assistance, guidance, coaching, and training to lower level employees
