  • Broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through prior work experience and/or education
  • Vocational training and/or certification (may be required)
  • Elementary school degree / GED or equivalent (Mexico)
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, with no instruction needed on routine work and general instructions on new activities
  • Thorough knowledge of operating equipment and established operational procedures
  • Ability to perform activities requiring considerable judgment and ownership of minor projects
  • Capability to independently propose solutions to general problems for supervisor review and recommend minor changes in systems and processes

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations
  • Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets, and written or verbal assembly instructions
  • Sets initial layouts and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s)
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed
  • Conducts quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, reassembles, and tests experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
  • Provides support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products
  • Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities in machines (higher levels recommend and/or make adjustments to methods and processes)
  • May be involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers
  • Performs a wide variety of non-routine clerical tasks and supports special projects or assignments in distribution center
  • Provides assistance, guidance, coaching, and training to lower level employees
