Requirements

Knowledge of patient care protocols relating to physical and psychological needs throughout the patient's life span (Infancy, Pediatrics, Adolescent, Adulthood, Geriatric)
Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development and ability to respond to specific issues reflective of patient/customer status
Knowledge and skills to provide care for the population served (Birth - 1 yr, 1 - 11 yrs, 12 - 17 yrs, 18 - 65 yrs, over 65 yrs)
Proficient skills in multiple modules of the Client Server system
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at one time
Ability to use photocopier, fax machine, paging system, telephone, laser printer, patient call system, patient security systems
Ability to communicate via Microsoft Outlook
Performs technical skills including: transports meal trays, administers enemas, bed making, assists patients with activity (e.g., chair transfers, carrying infants and toddlers), obtains vital signs/intake & output/patient weights, ambulates patients/pushes wheelchairs/carts, provides personal care (bed baths, shampoo hair, shaving, oral hygiene), assists with feeding patients, maintains clean patient environment, collects/labels/transports body fluid specimens, catheter care
Prioritizes and processes multiple tasks in a timely manner
Promotes effective verbal and written communication skills
Documents in MediTech
Demonstrates understanding and appropriate utilization of the child security system
Performs delegated patient assignments/duties
Uses equipment and supplies effectively

Provides clerical services to the nursing unit
Assists in nursing care by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards
