Requirements

  • Works with Facility Manager, facility staff, and physician to coordinate operations and patient procedures
  • Provides nursing support to patients and staff
  • Assists with staffing, staff training, equipment, physician and patient relations, cost containment, supply management, medical records, patient billing, OSHA, and company/state/federal compliance
  • Supports and drives quality standards through regulatory requirements and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of CQI tools
  • Accountable for outstanding quality of patient care as defined by quality goals
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with risk management initiatives
  • Addresses and acts on adverse events and action thresholds
  • Maintains integrity of medical records and administrative/operational records
  • Complies with data collections and auditing activities
  • Maintains facility environmental integrity, including safety
  • Coordinates all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge
  • Performs nursing assessments, obtains medical history, discusses procedures, and answers patient questions
  • Educates patients and families on post-procedure care of vascular access
  • Acts as resource for staff on patient concerns
  • Schedules patient procedures timely and utilizes facility capacity efficiently
  • Assists with patient workflow, providing direct patient care and monitoring pre/intra/post procedure
  • Identifies and communicates patient issues to Facility Manager
  • Oversees accurate and complete documentation of patient treatments
  • Confirms written orders, consents, and lab work per facility policies, including lab requisitions and reporting
  • Assumes primary responsibility in emergencies, maintains competency in emergency procedures, initiates CPR and emergency measures
  • Administers medications and IV conscious sedation per physician orders and regulations
  • Ensures regular and effective communication with physicians
  • Attends and participates in Governing Body and CQI meetings with physicians
  • Works with physicians and staff to ensure necessary instruments and equipment
  • Ensures appropriate operation of facility equipment (e.g., patient monitors, defibrillators, medical recording devices, computers)
  • Ensures regular inspection of facility equipment and reports malfunctions/maintenance issues
  • Ensures inspection of facility operating systems (e.g., temperature checks, physical structure)

Responsibilities

  • Works with management to ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Assists with implementing appropriate training according to policy
  • Ensures all Quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by facility staff
  • May confer with patients prior to procedures
  • Ensures patients' procedures are scheduled timely and facility capacity is utilized efficiently
  • Assists with patient workflow as needed
  • Assists with gathering data/material for Governing Body meetings and assists with meeting agenda
  • Reports on assigned topics in CQI meetings
  • Ensures inspection of all facility equipment on a regular basis and reports issues immediately
  • Ensures inspection of all facility operating systems, including temperature checks and physical structure
