We are seeking a skilled Hebrew linguist to serve as a backup to the main Language Lead for a key account. This role involves taking over linguistic review and quality assurance responsibilities when the primary lead is unavailable or to help manage workload. The ideal candidate will ensure all content meets client-specific guidelines and quality standards, acting as the primary reviewer when needed. Availability during European (CET) business hours (9:00–17:00) is required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in translating and reviewing content within the specified subject matter.
- Proficiency in marketing, UI, website localization, and online help.
- Well-versed in various translation and terminology tools.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Native fluency in Hebrew.
- Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to follow instructions, including character restrictions.
- Ability to effectively communicate the rationale behind translation choices.
- Capable of both translating and reviewing.
- Experience with machine translation post-editing.
- Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Act as an intermediary between the client (and third-party reviewers) and Welocalize linguists.
- Maintain overall quality, aiming for a fail rate below 97%.
- Monitor daily LQE (Linguistic Quality Evaluation) results, both passed and failed.
- Compile and share LQE changes with all linguists on the account.
- Analyze linguist deliverables, identify issues, and implement improvement actions.
- Support teams in the review process to maintain the fail rate.
- Assist linguists in understanding corrections and clarify with the client when necessary.
- Support linguists in the arbitration process.
- Address linguist questions during production and escalate to the client/Welocalize as needed.
- Identify challenging products/content and underperforming linguists, making recommendations for reallocation.
- Highlight workload issues and propose solutions to the Welocalize Language Services team.
- Collect root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive action plans for improvement.
- Create training materials and conduct training sessions for linguists.
- Organize regular calls with reviewers/LS to discuss corrections, requirements, and clarify misunderstandings, documenting outcomes and ensuring alignment.
- Support Welocalize in identifying and evaluating potential new candidates.
