Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, with a Master's degree being advantageous. A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management is required, specifically focusing on EDI, eligibility verification, and insurance discovery operations, along with expertise in EDI formats and standards like X12 and HL7. Additionally, 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, 5+ years of experience handling HIPAA-regulated data, regulations, and policies, and payer-provider data interchange, along with 3+ years of experience with healthcare management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and clearinghouses are necessary. A strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and insurance workflows, with at least 5 years of experience in these areas, is also essential.
The Healthcare EDI and Insurance Discovery Team Lead will oversee a team of analysts responsible for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations and healthcare insurance coverage verification. This role involves leading, mentoring, and developing the team, defining team goals, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with departmental objectives. The Team Lead will develop and implement strategic plans for EDI and insurance discovery initiatives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and oversee the monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of EDI transactions. Responsibilities also include ensuring accurate data exchange, collaborating with IT and vendors to resolve complex EDI issues, guiding the design and execution of insurance verification and discovery processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity through audits, and partnering with payers and clearinghouses to resolve escalated coverage issues. The Team Lead will serve as the primary liaison between the EDI insurance team and Revenue Cycle, IT, Compliance, and Product, provide subject matter expertise for new product development and system integrations, and lead training initiatives across the organization.
