Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare EDI operations, specifically with eligibility and insurance discovery, is required. Applicants must also have 3+ years of experience with HIPAA data, associated transaction sets, and payer requirements, along with 3+ years of experience with EDI formats and standards like X12 and HL7. Additionally, 2+ years of experience with clearinghouses, payer EDI, and healthcare management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar), and 2+ years of familiarity with healthcare billing and coding practices are necessary.
The Healthcare EDI Analyst will manage electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring accurate healthcare insurance coverage verification and maintenance. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining EDI transactions, collaborating with IT and external vendors to resolve transmission issues, and ensuring timely data exchange. The role involves analyzing EDI data for discrepancies, developing and maintaining process documentation, and assisting in the design and management of insurance coverage verification technology. The analyst will also maintain accurate insurance information, work with payers to resolve coverage issues, support audits and compliance initiatives, and partner with Revenue Cycle, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure data integrity and operational alignment, while also providing training on EDI and insurance coverage processes.
