Requirements

  • 15+ years in UX/UI or product design leadership within financial services, fintech, or consumer tech
  • Degree or equivalent experience in design, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Proven success delivering digital experiences across web and mobile
  • Deep expertise in user-centered design, usability testing, and interaction design
  • Strong portfolio showing visual design excellence and measurable business impact
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and design tools like Figma or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience building and scaling global or hybrid design teams
  • Skilled at influencing senior leaders and aligning design with business strategy
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence

Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver a unified UX/UI strategy and roadmap across Empower’s marketing and product experiences
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a 25-person team of designers, content strategists, and creative leaders
  • Build a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Evolve Empower’s design and content system for consistency, scalability, and innovation
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to turn insights into intuitive, high-impact experiences
  • Simplify and modernize user flows to strengthen acquisition, retention, and satisfaction
  • Develop a hybrid onshore/offshore model and apply AI tools to enhance quality and delivery
  • Collaborate with UX research to uncover customer needs and inspire design innovation
  • Ensure all experiences meet accessibility, privacy, and regulatory standards
  • Represent Empower’s design practice in executive forums and industry events
