A valid Class A commercial driver's license is required, along with current 40-hour HAZWOPER training or the ability to pass the course upon hire. A CDL Hazmat endorsement is preferred. Candidates should possess knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems, as well as pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, metal fabrication, and other maintenance functions. Proficiency with hand and shop tools and instruments is necessary, along with accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple diverse responsibilities.
The HazMat Retail Driver Technician operates Class A or B trucks in an LTL capacity to pick up customer retail waste from various sites. Responsibilities include sorting, packaging, verifying, securing, and transporting waste to designated facilities, while providing excellent customer service. The role involves maintaining electronic logs and documentation of manifests and work orders, performing DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, processing hazardous and non-hazardous materials, and assisting with facility housekeeping. Additionally, the technician functions on lab pack and field service projects and performs other related duties as assigned.
