Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the categories of Passive, Discrete and common components new part and alternative sourcing
  • New part number application, component data sheet approval, 2nd source import for cost down and manage component EOL issue
  • Focus on the multiple source development and tracking component lifecycle
  • Designs, analyses and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems
  • Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs
  • Assists in architecture development and assessment
  • Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production
  • May direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
  • Support for server product post launch cost down opportunistic activities
  • Component Engineering focus and fulfilling activities in support of component management, multi sourcing compliance across boards, component BOM and cost control, scrub, understanding and compliance
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal hardware design engineer, and outsourced development partners regarding component design status, progress, and issue resolution
  • Component root cause analysis and improvement actions for component related issues
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall electrical/electronic hardware and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities
  • Drive component selection and development processes as the common component subject matter expert
  • Collaborate with hardware design engineer for next generation cost and BOM readiness
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
