Requirements

  • Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training
  • Minimum of 1+ year experience teaching in a group exercise/yoga environment along with demonstrated knowledge of group exercise principles and safe exercise techniques
  • Current Personal Trainer or Primary Group Exercise Instructor Certification from select accredited certifying bodies such as but not limited to ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, or AFAA
  • Ability to teach a wide variety of fitness class formats (Strength, Bootcamp, Pilates, HIIT, Core, Functional Fitness, etc.), excluding yoga or dance
  • Capability to facilitate groups of up to 20 people
  • High energy and professional demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Be professional and welcoming: show up early and prepared for all classes, starting and finishing on time
  • Maintain professionalism consistent with industry standards in interacting with participants, conducting safe classes, and keeping a professional appearance
  • Write and facilitate 30-60 minute group fitness classes consistent with Bouldering Project’s offerings
  • Clearly communicate and coach proper movement patterns and provide modifications for all fitness levels
  • Create a high-energy group fitness experience for participants
  • Interact with participants, answer questions, introduce/orient new participants, and generate/maintain a positive exercise experience
  • Check students into class before the start and ensure correct class headcount
  • Find a sub to cover classes if unable to teach and be available to sub for other trainers
  • Respond appropriately to any emergency situations
  • Attend mandatory team meetings and continuing education trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
