Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified with previous post-qualification experience in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards, reporting and governance for a large ASX-listed company
  • Proven understanding of financial closing, consolidation and reporting processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex accounting topics to diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (especially Microsoft Dynamics 365) is highly regarded
  • Committed and collaborative team member, with an ability to absorb information and act accordingly, often in difficult situations
  • Proactive in discussing solutions and raising ideas for improvement in a positive and professional way, allowing you to build strong relationships

Responsibilities

  • Execute key month-end close and consolidation procedures, ensuring timely and accurate Group financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of the half-yearly and full-year consolidated financial statements
  • Research and prepare technical accounting papers to document the Group’s position for complex accounting issues
  • Monitor, interpret and communicate changes in accounting standards and maintain Group-wide financial policies
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on the accounting implications of business transactions and ad hoc projects
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies in financial planning and reporting, and liaise with external auditors
  • Support the Senior Financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller in ensuring the integrity of the Group’s financial data to meet reporting and compliance obligations
