Requirements

Advanced degree in the Engineering field with 15+ years of experience in R&D product development or equivalent
Ability to build strong cross-functional technical teams who demonstrated successful achievement through product release
Strong ability to self-manage, take initiative, organize, and prioritize

Responsibilities

Lead the global HW teams as well as have China site leadership responsibilities
Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to support global HW teams and liaise with global and local leadership teams, ensuring strong associates’ engagement across all R&D disciplines onsite
Partner with global leadership as well as China leadership organizations to support both global and local needs
Develop business objectives and strategies which are linked to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences goals. Provide leadership and direction to ensure effective execution of these strategies
Grow global and geographically distributed talent to best-in-class in product design and development taking a methodical design approach and utilizing various simulation and analysis tools including FEA, CFD, etc
Identify skillsets needed to continue to set the organization up to be on the forefront of innovation and adoption of new technology trends
Build a strong technical leadership team in the Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Fluidics and Firmware engineering areas and strengthen the existing talent
Provide coaching, mentoring, nurturing and establish growth and development opportunities for staff
Have a thorough understanding of the product development process in FDA-regulated industry
Partner with team to methodically assess different design choices and establish a clear understanding of tradeoffs
Partner with global supply chain and marketing teams to establish product structure that aligns with product offering, service, and marketing strategies
