Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • 5+ years in costing, sourcing, or production type work experience in progressively responsible roles
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism/interpersonal skills – clear and concise business communication; ability to influence others; comfortable interacting with customers and sales reps
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot, make difficult decisions independently, operate autonomously, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
  • Proven ability to manage and/or influence people, teams, and projects
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate experience using Excel to create spreadsheets, charts, and pivot tables
  • Initiative and strong business knowledge
  • Ability to translate company strategy into functional and team goals, monitor progress, remove barriers, identify and allocate resources, and act as a change catalyst

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to identify and track cost savings
  • Assist costing director and guide team to optimize the costing process to improve cost visibility and team efficiency
  • Communicate and negotiate to ensure costs provided are fair, reasonable, and aligned with costing and sourcing strategy
  • Assist with preparing seasonal economic outlooks for executive leadership team and functional teams; ensure pre-costing sharing between HQ and LO costings
  • Drive discussions and solicit feedback and advice for quality costing; monitor and record activities for cost saving and mitigation; plan necessary trainings
  • Maintain or improve relationships with different regions
  • Foresee challenges for costing routines and performance; communicate and solve problems; ensure timeliness and quality performance of costing
  • Organize team to build costing standards, including process and tooling costs
  • Organize team to collect data to set up databases, including bottoms and components; organize for related costing comparisons and reports; discuss improvements with costing director and related functional teams
  • Creatively initialize new costing tasks in alignment with costing principles and analysts; drive reports for reliable results
  • Implement costing strategy and goals; issue and update costing policies
  • Coordinate and report yearly costing savings and mitigations records
  • Motivate team to achieve high efficiency and company margin/finance goals
  • Add or simplify costing-related process improvements and promote communication for implementation; approve costing manual updates
  • Create a high-performance culture by setting clear performance objectives, providing ongoing feedback, and developing talent
  • Drive team engagement and promote an inclusive work environment using effective communication, team building, and collaboration practices
  • Maintain efficient operations in compliance with regulations, policies, and safety standards
  • Execute profitable and competitive costing strategies across footwear; develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures for strategic and seasonal costing
  • Lead team that coordinates efforts with factories, costing and development teams, and other functional teams
