An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or other mapping tools is required. Preferred proficiency includes Esri’s ArcGIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Web Applications).
Minimum qualifications require proficiency in GIS software, but 1-2 years of professional experience in a GIS role, ideally in environmental, conservation, or engineering settings, is preferred.
The GIS Analyst works closely with environmental scientists, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver tailored GIS solutions, while providing technical support and training to staff.
Strong candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field, 1-2 years of GIS experience in environmental settings, proficiency in ArcGIS suite, experience with spatial analysis tools like Python (ArcPy), database management, and knowledge of environmental regulations.
