Requirements

Ability to manually push, pull, and lift some equipment and materials as needed (manual exertion required even when mechanical means are possible)
Excellent work history in the areas of safety and attendance
Able to work a shift rotation (28 day cycle/1 weekend off per month), holidays, weekends, and overtime
Attention to detail
Ability to learn and recognize different kinds of corrugated furnish (wastepaper) used in formula mixes for varied grades of paper
Able to obtain a fork truck license
Safe and efficient operation of a Hyster 8000 Clamp Truck (to load pulper conveyor, unload baled furnish from trailers, store by type and grade; driving among other vehicles in wastepaper area)
Safe and efficient operation of a Toyota 4500 Fork Truck (for hauling bins, equipment, scrap rolls, etc., across mill areas; driving among other vehicles in wastepaper area)
Safe and efficient operation of a Caterpillar T-12 tractor with clamp attachment (to move and store loose recovered fiber)
Must follow Sonoco's best safety practices and report any damage or unsafe conditions immediately

Responsibilities

Safe and efficient unloading and storing of incoming recovered scrap material
Safe and efficient unloading and storing of incoming recovered fiber
Maintenance of related equipment
General housekeeping of the beater room and yard area (keeping storage area and aisles clean and orderly)
Unload baled recovered fiber using a fork truck with a clamp attachment
Move and store loose recovered fiber using a Caterpillar T-12 tractor with a clamp attachment
Load fiber onto hydrapulper conveyor
Haul bales from storage and place them in temporary storage areas for consumption on second and third shifts
Safe and efficient operation of a Hyster 8000 Clamp Truck to load the pulper conveyor with baled furnish and to unload baled furnish from flat-bed trailers and put them in storage according to type and grade
Safe and efficient operation of a Toyota 4500 Fork Truck for hauling bins, equipment, scrap rolls, etc., from one area of the mill to another
