Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience in at least two of the following areas: Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance (including 3-phase wiring, 460/220V, 110VAC, 24V wiring, PLCs with I/O sensors like PTs/CTs/4-20mA/low voltage/RTDs/thermocouples), Welding (AC/DC stick/MIG/TIG/torch brazing, welder setup), Plumbing (PVC/CPVC/compression/flare/sweating copper/threaded pipe), Conveyor/Auger maintenance, Pneumatic controls and air tools, Hydraulics (controls and control valves)
  • Ability to repair and maintain machinery and industrial equipment in pork processing, including hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/DC control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems
  • Capability to troubleshoot day-to-day operational problems
  • Ability to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery
  • Willingness to lift 0-61 lbs occasionally
  • For certain skilled positions (Instruments, Projects, Chillers/Engine Room/Refrigeration, PSM Coordinator): Pass HAZMAT and/or PFT (Pulmonary Function Test); mechanical knowledge/background preferred
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime (B-shift)
  • Effective communication with team members and management to resolve mechanical failures
  • Ability to read manuals to repair equipment safely
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
  • Ability to stand/walk 12-hour shifts on hard floors
  • Willingness to work in all facility environments (e.g., Harvest, Cut Converting, Rendering, Load-out freezer) with temperatures from -30 to +90 degrees
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S
  • Pass urinalysis screening (post-offer health assessment)
  • For rehire: 90-day waiting period if previously employed by Tyson

Responsibilities

  • Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production
  • Repair and maintain operating conditions of machinery and industrial equipment
  • Troubleshoot problems in day-to-day facility operations
  • Perform work involving hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3-phase wiring, AC/DC control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery
  • Complete daily required documentation
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to resolve mechanical failures
