Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA, MBA is a plus
  • At least 3 years of RTR experience in a complex multi-country, shared services environment
  • Experience in specialized accounting such as Treasury, inventory and product costing is an advantage
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of US GAAP with ability to apply technical knowledge in a practical manner to day-to-day operations
  • SAP or other enterprise systems experience advantage
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels. Korean or Japanese language skills a plus
  • Reasonable skill in Microsoft applications – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Team-oriented, self-starter with the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Manage period-end close activities, including preparation, analysis and posting of GL journal entries (e.g., accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, adjusting entries)
  • Review and reconcile intercompany accounts, involving communication with other Abbott business locations worldwide
  • Prepare monthly financial and trend reports, ensuring timely, accurate and efficient completion
  • Prepare multi-currency bank reconciliations
  • Support account inquiries and fluctuations for month-end accounting review
  • Own and maintain various reporting schedules required by partners, ensuring high level of support and accuracy
  • Assist Local Finance Stakeholders with internal or external audit requirements, including providing supporting documents timely and accurately
  • Collaborate with Local Finance Stakeholders to address audit questions and provide oversight/support for responses and remediation of audit findings
  • Prepare Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, ensuring all aged, open and reconciling items are accounted for, adequately explained, with sufficient details and documentation
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, working closely with project owners/internal stakeholders to ensure implementations within targeted dates, and enhance/develop work schedules for efficiency
  • Participate in issue resolution, including resolving escalated operational issues, performing root-cause analysis, recommending preventive action plans, updating RAID log, addressing GL transaction issues, ensuring compliance with internal policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work in close collaboration with the Asia Pacific Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC) and escalate violation incidences to OEC
  • Participate in testing and implementation activities to develop common end-state financial and accounting processes in support of supervisor and global process managers (e.g., RTR End to End Global Process Manager)
