Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Mechanical Aptitude (ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts such as sounds, heat conduction, velocity, gravity, friction, pressure, kinetic and potential energy)
  • Operation Monitoring (ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machine is working properly)
  • Quality Control Analysis (ability to conduct tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance)
  • Public Safety & Security (knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for security operations)
  • Repairing (knowledge and ability to repair machines, devices, and equipment based on electrical/mechanical principles; ability to diagnose malfunctions, conduct tests/inspections, read/interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics)
  • Safety (ability to recognize safety risks in operational activities and use measures to control/manage risks in difficult/complex situations)
  • Safety Awareness (ability to recognize/identify potential hazards, evaluate changes in work environment for safety impact, understand threats from safety deviations/improper tool use, use PPE, comply with manuals/training, call attention to hazards, knowledge of lockout/tagout, stop work if unsafe)
  • Systems Analysis (ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions/operations/environment affect outcomes)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gas treating, absorption, distillation, fractionation, product treating, product gas dehydration, and other process equipment
  • Operates gas compressors, auxiliary engines, motors, and pumps
  • Prepares engine room logs
  • Performs servicing, lubrication, and minor maintenance of assigned equipment, including alarms and Process Safety Management (PSM) testing
  • Handles routine maintenance, safety, and security in work area
  • Performs site checks
  • Adjusts equipment per the direction of the control room
  • Assists the maintenance and other support groups for optimal efficiency of the plant
